Let’s make a difference together.
Please fill out the Volunteer with VAST form below to become a part of the VAST team.
Awareness
VAST Training for Trainers: graduates from this 8 hour program can present or train anywhere in the community on human trafficking and VAST’s organization. With more advocates, we can reach more hearts and minds.
VAST Community Events: We strive to keep our calendar up to date and packed with events that support the community in taking action against trafficking and fostering awareness in the community. Check out our calendar! Sign-up for events OR contact us to schedule your own event!
Fundraising & Events Committee: From the community picnic to the fundraising gala, this committee brings awareness through each event planned, builds community capacity through fellowship events, and raises funds for VAST’s financial sustainability.
Action
K-12 Comprehensive Curriculum Team: This team has developed a comprehensive curriculum to prevent human sex trafficking through education on how media objectifies people, the addictive nature of pornography, online safety and more. Members are needed to continue advocating for use of this curriculum and funds to publish it.
Lobby Days in Harrisburg: We partner with the state-wide work group to promote their organized lobby days to advance legislation related to anti-trafficking.
Poster Blitzing Events: These events are small group events facilitated by a VAST representative. Small groups go out into the community to businesses and establishments to educate owners/managers and ask if they will raise awareness in their establishment.
Aftercare
Survivor Services Team: This is a team of Masters-level practitioners who provide counseling, group facilitation and intensive, comprehensive case management. This team facilitates and provides support for the WINGS group: Women Initiating Networks of Growth and Survival. A special VAST training is required for individuals who are enrolled in or hold a Masters-level helping degree.
Survivor Support Person: Being a driver, mentor, coach, tutor, or general support person for a survivor is the key to transitioning from traumatic experiences of trafficking to stable living in the community. A special VAST training is required.
